PARODY OF MODERN LIFE
Life
of modernism is a triumph of commercialization.
Saleable
even abstractions
Marketable
– ideals, maxims and principles.
Family
values – nutrition of consumer goods
Touchy,
emotional strings are
Advertising’s
fuel indispensable.
A
family man’s duty foremost
Is
a term insurance;
Regardless
of depreciating love-juice.
Even
children measure the depth of care
By
the dough spent on them,
Tantrums
valued and readily fulfilled.
Society
has transformed its meaning
Cause
Man’s no more social in his being.
He
loves his privacy—
Be
it among his friends, partner or neighbours.
The
girl next door is a stranger forever,
A
face you see, “But.... who cares who’s she!”
Busy
over networking-traffic,
That’s
the society one truly lives in
Loving
, hating, blending and sharing
With
people who may or may not be.
“That’s
Hamlet’s dilemma. Let him see!”
Pomp
is the virtue of the hour.
